We like it here.
We recommend renting a car if you plan to explore nearby spots like Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, or the windmill fields on your own. The desert is spread out, and rideshares can be limited once you’re outside the main towns.
Here are some things we recommend checking out if you decide to venture off the ranch:
Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Art Museum - art
Salvation Mountain - art
Bombay Beach - art
29 Palms Inn - wine/food
Pioneer Town - tourism
Pappy and Harriets - dive bar + live music
Art Queen - galleries, museums, and weird little stuff, including the World Famous Crochet Museum
Transmission - big ole sculpture
Mojave Flea Trading Post - shopping
The Station Joshua Tree - souvenirs
Campbell Wind Phone - for calling departed loves
Hi-Desert Nature Museum - it’s in the name
Glass Outhouse - outdoor art gallery
Badseed Vintage - vintage + thrift
Lucky Thrift - 29 palms thrift store
There’s actually so many vintage and thrift stores we can’t really name them all.
Big Bud Press - unisex clothing
Chef Tanya’s Kitchen - popular and famous veggie food
RIP Wine & Rock Shop :-(
